Lifestyle for you
Lifestyle in today’s era is defined as number and the kind of assets a person acquires. But, the definition of a lifestyle in Ayurveda is way more broad and different from the one we follow these days. Lifestyle according to Ayurveda is a quality of life, rather than just counting on to the liabilities. If a person is not able to enjoy his life in his own ways, than all the money and luxuries in the world are worthless to him. Ayurveda states, pleasure comes only when a person is physically, mentally, socially and spiritually healthy. Any person not having a simple ingredient out of these four cannot enjoy the feeling of sheer pleasure to its best. For example; if a person being a billionaire interested in scuba diving can arrange to have the best location and the best instructor, but if he/she suffers from any chronic disorder like gout, arthritis, osteoporosis, etc. may not be able to ascertain the pleasure of his passion. Similarly, if a person not fit mentally or socially cannot enjoy the pleasure of living a normal life with people around them.
The concept of holistic health and wellbeing in Ayurveda and yoga is derived from the very much idea of living happy and contained. Also most of the chronic health issues like diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, gout, etc. are caused due to unhealthy or unmanaged lifestyle and the treatment of these disorders also lies in itself.
According Dr. Dean Ornish (international writer of the bestselling books) lifestyle associated disorders and heart diseases (CCHD) can be managed and treated by only lifestyle changes and dietary restrictions. Ayurveda focuses on the very same core concept of healthy diet and healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle is not where you have to struggle to maintain your schedule, in fact a lifestyle can be said to be healthy only when it can be accommodated with your daily schedule without any major effort or effect on your work.
